MANZI Water Partners With B4T To Create Branded Clothing That Represents SA’s Rich Cultural Heritage

As part of Heritage Month, MANZI Water is taking steps to highlight its commitment to socially conscious initiatives that foster South African heritage while supporting an organisation dedicated to empowerment and skills development.

The MANZI Water team will now source some of its branded clothing from Business4Transformation (B4T), which will be worn primarily by the more than 300 employees in the business, with plans to make the MANZI Water apparel available to our broader community over time.

“The MANZI Water family is proud to partner with businesses and organisations that are committed to making a positive, lasting impact on society. Organisations like B4T are an excellent fit for us, as they embody the values that we hold dear,” said Alfred Challis, CEO of MANZI Water.

“We are equally pleased to share the MANZI Water apparel with Gwijo Avenue, the men behind the a cappella group who sang the official MANZI Water song, and First Touch Football Club, a women’s soccer club based in Polokwane, Limpopo,” he added.

B4T focuses on integrating business with social impact by creating sustainable ventures that transform communities. The partnership with B4T reflects MANZI Water’s commitment to supporting and promoting the rich cultural heritage that we are so fortunate to be a part of in South Africa. Its mission is to empower individuals through comprehensive training programs, equipping them with practical skills and an entrepreneurial mindset.

Over the past 15 months, B4T has established a comprehensive sewing skills training facility. The program goes beyond basic sewing instruction, offering a holistic nine-month curriculum that covers a wide range of topics, including:

  • Sewing Proficiency,
  • Entrepreneurship Education, and
  • Job Creation.

The products made by trainees during their training are sold to support B4T’s sustainability. Revenue generated from sales is reinvested into the organisation, allowing for the continued provision of stipends to students and the expansion of training facilities.

B4T relies on the support of individuals and organisations who share a vision for skills upliftment and job creation. We invite other interested parties to learn more about how they can contribute or partner with B4T to support this important mission.

MANZI Water Partners With Annual Soccer Smash Community Event

350 Boys Enjoyed A Day of Sporting Fun

MANZI Water recently partnered with Ashton John’s Private School in Klerksdorp to support their annual Soccer Smash event.

“At MANZI Water, investing in the community is a core principle of ours. We’re driven by our motto ‘WATER GIVING LIFE,’ which motivates us to improve the lives of the people around us through various initiatives, including access to safe, clean drinking water, as well as community support”, said Johan Steynberg, owner of MANZI Water in Klerksdorp.

Established in 2023, the annual Soccer Smash event was created to leave a lasting impact on the lives of children in need. The event is intended to be a day filled with fun and joy, where 350 boys come together to compete in the beautiful game of soccer. At this year’s event, each participating child received a MANZI Water-branded drawstring bag and a sports water bottle to ensure they enjoyed the event and stayed hydrated.

The focus of the event is to give back to the community by providing children with the opportunity to participate in the sport they love. The Soccer Smash is organised specifically for school children who do not have access to the resources needed to play soccer, such as soccer kits and balls. “We welcome the opportunity to play a role in initiatives like this, that aim to bring people together, while inspiring young people through sports,” Steynberg added.

Local community members joined in the fun and were equally excited to participate in the event, and enjoyed the day with the MANZI Water mascot, ZI.

“Since it is an annual event, the Smash Soccer games will be held again next year. MANZI Water is dedicated to sustaining its support for such community initiatives and would value the opportunity to come on board and support this initiative again in future” concluded Steynberg.
